Baby dropped 50th to 13th percentile

Went for a private scan today and found since my 20week scan 3 weeks ago where baby was in the 50th percentile has dropped to the 13th. My 20 weeks ago scan said I may have IUGR, confused as to what this means and worried it has dropped soo low at 23 weeks. Will contact midwife on Monday, just wanted any advice from anyone whose been through this before, first time mum x

My baby was always on the smaller side. Under the 10th percentile. We had extra growth scans to keep an eye on her and as long as baby is following their own growth curve, midwives tend to be happy. After birth my baby went up to the 25th percentile so try not to stress too much x

I found out at a private scan also that my baby is looking small but it could be bcos Asian babies are small generally but advised I get it checked out regardless. She was right! My baby was born at on the 0.4 percentile and is 3 years old and is below the 0.4 percentile 🤷🏽‍♀️

I would definitely speak to your midwife but I would try and not worry too much I was told in the beginning my baby was going to be small because of testing they had done then from 20 weeks was told baby is measuring big, 5 days before I had him I was told he was measuring 99th percentile and was born 5 days later at just over 50th percentile xx

My baby was born in the less than 1 percentile after an induction at 37 weeks. She had pretty much stopped growing at the point. At my 20 week scan she was already measuring behind almost 2 weeks and did so consistently at monthly checks until I was referred to MFM at 30 weeks and had weekly scans to monitor her growth. She is 4 weeks old now and still in the less than 1 percentile but doing very well. The only issue we've had is she struggled to maintain her body temp for the first ten days or so and we spent that time in the hospital since she had zero body fat. They never did find out why she had IUGR since genetic testing in the first trimester was normal and there was no issue on ultrasound with placenta or umbilical cord. Unfortunately my placenta was too damaged when it was delivered that pathology of it wasn't great but nothing was obviously wrong with it. Definitely check with your midwife on Monday though and ask what the plan is for monitoring growth moving forward.

I was told I have a unilateral notch and that my placenta wasn’t delivering blood well enough, and then today it dropped in percentile, did anyone else have such a drop at around 23 weeks or similar? Just worried as still around 17 weeks to go, and it’s already dropped soo much but will contact midwife Monday x

My baby didn't slow down on growth until 33-35 weeks. She was consistently measuring on her own curve until that time. At my regular OB office, I never did get what percentile she was, but at MFM, she went from 2nd percentile to less than 1 in four weeks.
