Yes we’re back at work together (I work in early childhood and she’s at my service) I miss her. She misses me. Her sleep is out the window. She wakes and cries for me at night
I've never left my baby with anyone but my partner , and even still it's only 15 minutes max. My partner spends every moment when she's not working with the baby and they're vet bonded but my baby is still breastfed and very bonded to me so I'm always around.
Gradual settling is what works. I learned this the hard way with my toddler crying! You stay with them for 1 hour everyday for however long it takes your child to understand that the people and environment is a safe and happy place. Then when your child is ready you leave at the end of the hour for 5 mins to begin with and see how that goes (whilst the keyworker engages with the child). This increases to 10mins etc. until the child can stay the whole hour without you.
I’ve been back to work 3 weeks, and surprisingly baby’s done great! It’s either his grandma or auntie or dad (when off work) who watches them, but I do think it helps he has 2 older brothers too. If he was an only child I think it would be a different story. I was shocked how well he was straight away as a few times my sister in law has tried taking him for a few hours and had to bring him back, same with my mother in law. So I was dreading going back! Apart from being watched at home Whilst I work (only 3.5 hours a day mon-Fri) he doesn’t go anywhere, never stayed out yet etc x
