Any stay at home moms struggling?

I’m a stay at home mom with two littles, I live where it is dangerously cold and am struggling to find activies to do with my kiddos. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Teal! I totally understand I’m in WI and the winters are definitely hard. I also have two littles! Here are some things I’ve done with my littles (they’re almost 2 years apart my youngest is 3 months and my oldest is 2) I try to schedule things in the week for my oldest- play dates and I do a weekly Power Hour which is at a church and they do a craft and have time to play. I also take my little to the YMCA for playtime! Does your local library offer passes to local museums or indoor activities for kids? At home we read lots of books and i bought my son a kitchen so he can start playing imagination with that. Feel free to reach out! Although we aren’t in the same state I think moms need a village too! Hang in there mama the sun and warmth will come! ♥️

Thank you so much for your advice yeah I have a kitchen and everything too for my kiddos and I try to do an activity with them whether it’s coloring or dancing or something and it’s just so much easier during the summertime because they’re outside and I garden and take care of my animals but it’s just so hard during the winter time I live in Montana so it’s just when winter hits it hits hard and it’s been so cold that I can’t take them outside sledding or anything like that due to possible frostbite and what not but I appreciate you so much and yes, we do need a village it iscritical that we have a village. I really appreciate you. Thank you.

Of course! Never hesitate to reach out! I hope this winter season isn’t too long for you! My in-laws lived in Montana for 8 years and they always said how harsh the winters were!

I live in Maine with a 2yo and a 4 yo. It’s been SO rough! I works from home but my job allows me to really still live regular day to day life doing whatever I need/want to. However, we don’t have that much to do out here where I live and you can only go to the trampoline park so many times. My kids keep asking for the beach 😂

We do our local rec center for toddler play hour. We do the library (the have toddler story hour as well). I don’t know if you guys have an indoor ice rink but those can be fun! We shop, allot too 😂😂😂

As far as indoor stuff, I just make sure that they have an activity going or like take out one “big toy” for them to use together (legos, coloring books, playdough) I find when they have an activity they don’t get so crazy and the mess is wayyy more minimal. Letting them free play just ends up being “let’s take out every single toy we own and then not even play with them and get overwhelmed because theirs to much going on” 😂 So structured play is best for us.
