barnet hospital

Hey! I’m looking to give birth in barnet hospital as it’s the closest to me with a maternity unit. I haven’t been there yet as i’ve been seen at royal free and chase farm for appointments and scans. Just wondering if anybody has been there for any prenatal appointments or given birth there and could share their experience. Thank you

I was seen in Barnet throughout my whole pregnancy as well as given birth there! Great experience everyone was really nice and professional, the quality of care was also great and to be honest that’s the hospital I’ll stick with when I have my second! Hope it helps! xx

I had all my scans etc at Barnet & had a water birth had a great experience throughout x

Had both my babies at Barnet, good experience during the birth, very good supportive midwives, however couldn't get through on the phone when I was getting contractions and suggested I waited half an hour when I called them up, by the time I got there gave birth in half an hour. Mainly positives, but like all the NHS not perfect.

Many positives, gave birth with induction + emergency C section. Surgery team was great and most midwives are great. My main downside is that everything can get lost between one shift and the other, so if for any reason you end up staying there for a few days, make sure you follow all the medications, all the conversations, and have someone with you that is vigilant as well. A few mix up happened while I was there. I had to chase multiple things like meds and tests, and one nurse didn’t want to discharge me just because some paperwork wasn’t ready.

I had my appointments at chase farm too and gave birth at barnet via an induction and couldn’t fault them, I’d definitely recommend xx
