Popsicles

Would you give your 7m old a popsicle?? Not the fruit ones, the ice pop ones and stuff like that. MIL constantly wants to give him one, hubby doesn’t see an issue, I keep telling them he’s too young…

Too much sugar. If she really wants him to have a popsicle she can freeze some yogurt or blended fruit and make a homemade one that you are confident will be good for him.

I've given popsicle since around 7m but as Betsie mentioned I made my own, usually just water and chopped up strawberries. Sometimes even just water but my LB loved them especially when struggling with teething. The popsicle moulds are so cheap and handy

I wouldn’t do store bought ones. I’d give breastmilk popsicles, or homemade ones with water or pedialyte and fruits. But yeah I think too young

Thank you ladies, I keep telling them it’s to much sugar for him rn and homemade ones are fine but they think I’m overreacting for not wanting to give store bought ones

I’m sure there’s better options of store bought ones! Like we avoid dyes so we try to get dye free ones. I’d tell them to find those kind and sugar free or something and get them

Incog. Dont fall for the pressure!! It blows my mind that encourage healthy eating habits is seen as weird by so many but to give a 7m old an ultra processed food is seen as normal. I nearly told my MIL to fuck off

I got pedialyte ones! Bit better than regular ones & we used them for teething :) https://www.pedialyte.com/products/freezer-pops/variety-pack

I used to freeze the baby apple and pear puree into those baby silicone fruit feeders especially when teething.. maybe worth getting 2 of those and keeping one at the MIL house for when she’s wants to give baby something colder but I wouldn’t let them give baby an popsicle way too much sugar and dyes too. Stay natural, the purées, yogurts or smoothies are the best idea :)

Too much sugar. We use to make our own homemade from blended fruits and veggies instead.

Your poll options are confusing lol so I hit the wrong one

I think using like all natural fruit juice to make ice pops is fine! I don’t think I’d let a 7 month old have a whole one ever LOL I’d make them in a lil silicone food pacifier

Yeah I would let mine have a little bit but not a whole one x

Yes your poll options are backwards

Wait the answers are backwards. I hit no because I wouldn't give that kind of popsicle to a 7m baby. But frozen yogurt or frozen fruit is a great treat!

It’s not that complicated people😂 Yes, you agree with me that he’s too young Or No I don’t agree with you, I think it’s okay

We have given my son sugar free outshine bars around that age 🤷🏻‍♀️

You’re mom and if you don’t want baby to have them baby shouldn’t have it

@@Anna👼👶👼👼 I think the question is just asking would you if it was your child. And then people are just commenting with other recommendations and alternatives as they wouldn’t give baby a popsicle

I made fruit or yogurt ones for my lg last summer when she was about that age but even this summer (she’ll be closer to 2) I won’t let my lg have one as they are wayyyy too sugary for a child that young

i would only give ones with real fruit and no added sugar

I think everything in moderation is okay (besides honey and undercooked eggs, etc), but at the end of the day, if you’re not comfortable with it, they shouldn’t pressure you into it.

It’s too cold! I wouldn’t. That’s probably because it’s winter here 😂

I personally don’t see an issue but if thats something that you want to avoid then let it be known and stand on it

I personally wouldn’t give that to a kid of any age. Too much sugar
