I’ve had the copper coil fitted for 4 months ish, and really like it. sure my periods are a bit heavier and about a day longer but like that there is no Hormones as I always had issues, same with the hormonal coil

I swear by the copper coil hormones turn me in a raging psychopath but the copper one I’m fine with xx

@Sophie were your periods over after? Mine were more crampy but not bad

@Laura I found mine were more heavy for a few months but settled down a lot after. I also found mine become more regular I have PCOS so would go 6 months without now I’m regular as clock work give a day

Thank you. With the mirena I bled daily for 6 months so defo don’t want the hormonal one again. A friend said they like the copper. I may look in to this - thank you!

Maybe try an IUD? There’s the plastic one that releases hormones, and I believe the non-hormonal one is copper and lasts longer. I always chose the plastic as I’m not a fan of foreign metals in my body, and since that’s designed to last longer, it increases your chances of infertility because your tissue can grow through it and embed, meaning surgery to remove it

I had copper coil for about 15 years. I have only changed to a hormone coil because my periods were unmanageable

Thanks all. Interesting to hear about the heavy bleeds with copper. My friend said this too. I bled xxx with the mirena coil - had to get that thing OUT!

@Hayley I didn’t expect to have this one 😂 He won’t tho - I’ve scooted around the subject. I don’t want the pill. Don’t rally want the implant. Didn’t take to the coil. May have to be condoms or no sex 😂

Yep, seems fair! Do they still make diaphragms? Sounds like you need a non hormonal solution… tube tie? Sorry to hear your partner won’t do the snip!!
