Constipation

Anyone else dealing with constipation? I'm still breastfeeding, but I did give her an overload of dairy on Wednesday night. She is 2 and a half next month, but ever since that night she has pooped twice, but she acts like she needs to poop, but nothing comes out. You can tell she's in pain. I have given her no dairy, apple juice and a lot of fruit. Anyone else dealt with this? What worked? It's been 4 days now, I'm definitely taking her in tomorrow if she keeps doing this

My daughter is 4. Has a problem like this since she was a baby. There isn’t a “diagnosis” or anything like that. But she’ll be on a daily polyethylene glycol for the rest of her life.

@Katie oh my gosh. How did you find this out? When did it start?

She had an xray. She was so backed up. I first had her seen because she was throwing up CONSTANTLY!!!! She was throwing up so much because she couldn’t fit anything else.

@Anna Burke yes. I could not figure out why she was throwing up so much. We would be in the middle of eating dinner, and without warning, just throw up EVERYWHERE. It still happens sometimes if I don’t keep with the medicine. The doctor was trying to get me to give her the medicine 3 capfuls a day. I did for a while, but it became uncontrollable and had some pretty bad accidents. I just give her about 1 capful a day to help keep her regulated.

Poor baby. I wonder what causes the constipation
