Pads or diaper or both?

Those who experimented with both, which is better? Maternity pads with disposable underwear, or adult diaper (without pads), adult diaper (plus pads).

okay, thanks. Yeah with my first I wore diapers only for the first few days.

Adult underwear was amazing for me!

Adult diapers for the win! With built in pads

Adult diapers with no extra pads for me! So comfortable!!

Avatar

diapers at first, i didn’t need them after about a week. then i switched to pads after the bleeding slowed

Adult diapers are so much better. No twisting no riding up. BUT ice pads are phenomenal the first 2 weeks pp. I still like adult diapers for the heavy period nights.

Diapers 100%. No slipping or sliding with pads, especially because the bassinet was on my side of the bed so there was a lot of "scooting" in and out of bed. I also had a C-section and the diapers came up over my incision to my belly button so there was no extra pressure like with regular underwear. I switched to reusable high waisted period underwear once the bleeding slowed down because I just despise pads in general and it worked well for me.

Adult diaper for sure until the bleeding slows. No risk of extra laundry and comfy.

I got full briefs 1 or 2 sizes up during my pregnancy which were also perfect to wear with the Frida pads PP. Frida pads were definitely my favourite; large and absorbent without being uncomfortably bulky.

Avatar

I used both used the diaper as like disposable underwear, I haemorrhaged after birth & was super heavy for 2 days but completely stopped bleeding after 4 days xx

Avatar

I got the Frieda and then big pads

I found the adult style nappies made my skin sore

Avatar

Adult diaper for about the first week then the pads after that

Avatar

I really liked the diaper with a pad, because I could just change out the pad and not worry about stained underwear.

Then as it got lighter, I used the rest of the diapers alone, and then towards the end just regular pads or pantyliners.

Avatar

For my first, I experimented a bit...for my second, i knew what worked and it was adult diapers only for me 🤷‍♀️

Avatar

Pads are great because you can put witch hazel on them & freeze them, which was a lifesaver for me after birth lol. But diapers are also super comfy.

Avatar

I used massive high waisted "granny pants" and maternity pads, I bled so so much for the first 2 weeks it was insane 🥲

Avatar

Adult nappies are the best imo. The pads are so massive and so uncomfortable, the nappies just felt lighter, and I felt more protected

Avatar

Pads in the day and disposable underwear at night (less chance of leaking and you don’t want to have to get up in the middle of the night to change a pad if your baby is asleep)

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
