BM is an entitled idiot

Sorry for the rant but SD used to live with BM and she received maintenance from my husband every month totalling over £20,000 across the span of time living there. When husband shared that our mortgage was being increased by £600 a month and I was on maternity leave he asked if he could reduce maintenance by £80 a month as we couldn’t afford to pay the current amount and she declined and took him to the CSA. Tables turned and SD has now lived with us for 6 months, and BM has contributed nothing. Today when it was addressed and my husband asked when she would start contributing financially, she replied: “I do two shifts a week so I don’t earn enough to contribute to maintenance 👍” The sarcasm and attitude is so frustrating as I pay more towards her child than she does, and I feel she should be paying something, £10 a month, anything. Equally part of me just thinks it’s embarrassing that she won’t pay towards her child, and can happily say no… Anyway rant over. Thanks for reading 😂

We are in the exact same situation ! She refuses to get a job even though she has no reason not to just so she doesn't have to give us CSA. We have had custody for about 6 years now and never seen a penny. It's best just to think you don't need it, you and your husband can give your SD a great life without her help. Trust me when they are older they notice 🩷

We haven’t bothered asking or even going to the CSA for maintenance off my SD for my grandson. We dont want or need it and even if we did get it off her she’d be asking to “borrow” money within days of getting it. She claims it’s harder for her to pay bills/buy food as she doesn’t get any money for him. I laughed her off the phone when she said and said why should she get money for him when she hasn’t cared for him since he was 3 weeks old
