Hitting phase ☹️

Any tips on how to deal with a (ruthless) hitting stage? I'm getting hit, pinched and hair pulled multiple times daily 😫 I have been firmly saying no, holding her hands palm to palm and telling her gentle hands etc. She just finds it funny. It's been going on for a few weeks.

My daughters not to bad for it… but if she does hit me I just say “no thank you” “gentle with mummy” I take her hand and stroke my face and say “ahh that’s nice thank you” if she does it again I again say no thank you mummy isn’t playing now and I remove myself from the situation. This will normally upset her and I give her a minute to calm down and explain to her that mummy won’t play if you hurt me. We are just starting with the lying…she says her baby has bitten her… he’s not even born yet 🙈 and has also started saying you hit me or daddy hit me when she’s nowhere near us and laughs about it….toddlers are hard!

I’m not getting hit but my youngest (2yrs old) is honestly so angry with her brother who’s 5yrs old 😂 she proper goes for him! Hits, bites, kicks and shouts! Earlier she shouted ‘no you go away Harry’ and hit him on the head 🙃 I never went through it with my eldest, so I have no advice but you aren’t alone! Hopefully it’s just a phase, and if we keep being consistent they’ll soon learn x

@Olivia thank you! I will keep trying. She understands gentle hands and will show me "gentle hands" and even says "I have gentle hands mummy" but then will hit me again 0.2 seconds after, it's just got worse and worse! I thought I was smashing this parenting thing! 😂 I will try removing myself from the situation as well. Oh goodness I am not looking forward to the lying stage 😫 they always pull something out of the bag don't they!

@Emily bless you, my daughter has been quite mean to her cousin as well and really pulls her hair and hits her, it's awful! 🤞 it is a phase and they give their victims a break soon 😫 xx
