Baby porridge or rolled oats?

Should I buy the branded baby porridges or should I just make my own porridge with rolled oats? If I do make my own do I need to blend up the rolled oats before making the porridge as my baby is only 6 months?

I’ve never bought baby branded oats I just make porridge with normal oats and given it. Done this for 2 babies, never blended and did it straight from 6 months. Just maybe add a bit more milk if you’re worried

yeah it’s totally fine ! branded baby porridge is just a sales thing

Sometimes branded baby porridge is fortified with extra nutrients, but either is fine really. I used my own oats and I did blend up my oats for awhile when I made mine at home, and as I got more comfortable I started giving them more lumpy and then whole. Whatever you and your baby are comfortable with!

Cerelac is good because it has a lot of calories and vitamins

I used to make it with normal oats then blend it yes

I just cooked up the oatmeal. Baby loved it!

Baby branded porridge is a con, just buy regular oats - baby can have them as they are (cooked), it’s not unsafe.

We started with baby porridge but there's so much crap added to it that I changed to blitzed rolled oats and made porridge that way... plus it's cheaper

@PeachyQueen yes, but unfortunaly more then 50% of Cerelac is sugar. Simple oats or with fruits are more healtyer.
