Average Pat Leave Length?

Hi everyone! I was wondering how long your husband/partner is planning on taking off work following baby’s birth? My husband only gets the standard two weeks and is planning on taking an additional week’s holiday on top of this but 3 weeks feels like nothing! xx

Same here. It sound crazy

My other half will just be the standard 2 weeks pat leave. Will then take 2 weeks leave through the summer hopefully when the weather's better and we can so things as a family with our son being off on school holidays x

I feel so lucky that my partner gets 14 weeks off!

My husband gets the two weeks pat leave and then hoping he can have two weeks annual leave straight after. Given the timings of various bank hols in April/early May, we’re hoping it’ll work out to pretty much a full month

my partner is taking his two weeks paternity plus booking off two weeks annual leave, he’s gonna be off for around a month xx

Last time round my partner took 2 weeks pat and 3 weeks holiday, and this time round he’s got 2 weeks pat and 2 weeks holiday x

Think that's the same as what my partner is doing 2 weeks standard then a week of annual leave x

2 months - but it’s been quite a fight to get this. 2 weeks paternity, 2 weeks annual leave then 1 month unpaid !

My partner is only taking 2 weeks annual leave. We can’t justify for the both of us to be on maternity/paternity pay 😩

Mine will just be off 2 weeks pat leave

Very fortunate that my husband gets 6 months paternity. He’s taking 2 weeks at the start, then from July to December

My husband gets 12 months and he’s taking it, so we’ll both be off together for the whole time 😅

Mine also gets 6 months full pay and he ll add 5 weeks of accrued holiday. Other companies really need to do better, 2 weeks is appauling and so unfair on the mother too.

My partner gets 80 hours which depending where birth falls, doesn't even cover 2 weeks! He took an extra weeks holiday last time and is doing x4 extra weeks this time! If he worked at my company, he would get 6 mpnith full pay!

I’m having a planned section with my second, and my partner will have 2 weeks off, with potential of 3 🫣 and this time I’ve got a 2 year old and a new born and a dog 🫣xx

@Jess good luck! My partners booked the extra x4 weeks time time just in case I have to have a planned section! Don't think I could do it with the toddler, too, this time!

We are lucky, hubby gets 3 months on full pay

Just the standard 2wks unless anything goes wrong and I need him around more. Hoping that if induction works at 38wks, he’ll have his 2wks then it’ll lead in to the Easter hols and my 2 teenagers will be around. So likely have someone around for first 4wks.

My husband gets 6 weeks full Pay at his company fortunately. He’s taking 4 weeks at the beginning and then splitting the rest + AL throughout the year.

My partner gets 4 weeks, he’s taking two at the start and two at the end of mine xx

Two weeks x

This will be my third C-section and I’ve heard the more you have the harder the recovery ect. So my husband will be having the two weeks then two weeks annual leave on top
