Have you tried one of the potty training books? We found the Pirate Pete one he liked and made him happy to wear “pants like daddy” (little boxers, so cute)
@Jess thank you, I have aborted mission for now as could see how quick it could turn negative and a battle! Just wanted to try and nail it while he was off for half term!

If you can’t get to the shop (or none in stock locally) there are often ones being read on YouTube. You could do a screen capture and keep it on your phone? The book is better but if you are keen to get started sooner! x
I tried to over half term as well, I stayed home for 2 days and kept nappy off. He point blank refused to sit on the potty or toilet and cried when I tried to set him on it. He was peeing on the floor and knew what he was doing after he did it, so I’d say we’re 85% of the way there. I have left the potty out for him to get used to, but I’m going to give it a few weeks and try again.
@Rachael we went straight to pants. He hated being wet. Three days of constant accidents then click. 80% on the toilet/potty. 🤷🏻♀️
@Rachael this is how mine is, he won’t even let me keep the nappy off! Just wants his nappy on and trousers on 🤷🏻♀️ am going to do the same as you just leave the potty around and see if he warms to it
It’s such a minefield isn’t it! My boy does know what he’s doing when the nappy is off, but he is quite content still in a wet nappy etc. I’m hoping we’ll get it cracked soon x
I’d stop and not mention it for a few weeks. Then just have it in the bathroom. When you go ask if he wants to sit on it. We’ve got nappy pants which makes this easier. Try again in a few weeks time when he’s forgotten about it. If you continue now it’ll just make it worse x
