Weaning and pooing

Hi ladies, first time mum here. My little girl is 6 months and we have been weaning for about 4 weeks now. She’s really struggling to poo, not just constipation but when she is going it’s quite hard and she’s struggling to pass it you can see the pain in her face, she goes bright red and gets really upset. Is this normal and will it improve the more her body gets used to food or should I be worried? Is there anything I can give her to help? Sorry for the detail 🙈 TIA 😊

Yeah same here! But sometimes it’s not hard it’s just massive amount of it but she’s really straining! I’ve been giving prune puree on top of yoghurts but doesn’t seem to be helping :(

Yea I’ve been going her prunes as well. Maybe it’s normal and just takes them a while to adjust but just weren’t sure if I was doing something wrong

Same here! I have just been giving prune puree with pear, helping a little bit still constipated bless her xx 😞 I'm hoping it improves as she gets used to it xxx

Same. It's a lot for their little bods to handle so I'm thinking it'll pass in time once they're used to it x

It’s normal when you start weaning I think, I can’t really remember with my son as he’s 8 now😂 but my daughter is currently the same x

This has been happening to us. I tried literally everything for constipation for weeks and nothing worked. Went to the GP and they prescribed movicol. She had one Sachet over two days and the most almighty amount of poop came out of her! She feels so much better!

Definitely try some prune puree! Xx

My little girl was exactly the same ! I had to keep reminding myself to give her water in between and it really helped xx
