Carriers

Can anyone recommend a baby carrier? I bought the ergobaby embrace however I just find the straps really uncomfortable and can’t put my arms up when wearing it. I want something really simple that I can easily put on on my own! Baby is 14 weeks but was 7 weeks premature max don’t want to spend an arm and a leg x

I'd highly recommend attending a sling library, here's the link to see if there's one near you https://www.carryingmatters.co.uk/sling-pages/ There's also a really good group on Facebook called 'baby wearing uk ' with consultants that maybe be able to advise online 😊

I also recommend going to a sling library. They'll show you how to use it and ypu can rent them out.

Another vote for sling library ! I'm currently renting a sling from our local one and it was 15 pounds for a month. Saves me wasting money on something that doesn't work for us and because they're experts I feel confident that baby is fitting properly

I’d also agree with the above comments on here. You’ll get people recommending all sorts of different carriers but what you prefer or find most comfy will be dependent on so many different factors :)

I have 2 different ones from Infantino from Argos. They are comfortable and I put them on by myself no problem. Price is reasonable. My baby is also 14 weeks and fits well in it. However it is a good idea to check few different ones as ladies write here as only you know what you are looking for and what is comfortable for you and your baby.

@Amy thanks I’ve had a look but the local slinglibrary charges £95!! X

@Conchi thanks I’ve had a look but the local slinglibrary charges £95!! X

@Jules thanks I’ve had a look but the local slinglibrary charges £95!! X

That's crazy prices!!!!!! The one in our town is literally a fiver for an advice session, then fifteen for months hire. In that case, have a look on that fb group above. People are really keen to give advice there, and may even know of a cheaper library near you

Woah that's crazy for a sling library, ours is free! What county are you in?

@Charley to be honest I presumed it was free, she said she was free for safety advice but not for a consultation! Xx

You can also get online sling consultations and they'd be cheaper than that. I had one for my carrier and now I know what to do it's so comfortable. The Facebook baby wearing group is also helpful. You might even find a cheaper sling library through it x

When I went it was free. You just had to pay if you wanted to rent one

@Charley I’m in Essex! X
