It shocked me to be honest, I thought it was a one time thing but we’ve had to have someone sat with him in car today x
My son is an oct 22 baby and has been doing it since pretty much straight after turning two🫠🫠🫠🫠 shocked was an understatement and I’m still struggling with getting him to stop doing it. Long distances are a no go for me alone in the car with him at the moment. I got the strap to go across his chest which he figured out how to undo on the first drive. I then used a different strap to put around the red button and through the other straps so if he undone it he wouldn’t be able to get out until I could pull aside and click it back in but he has since figured this out also. I have resulted to turning him around to distract him talking to him about the other passing cars and their colours which I am seriously unhappy about but I’m at my wits end with it and literally cannot journey longer than 5 mins without pulling over if he is rear facing 🥲
Please try the Velcro and seek professional advice - not from Halfords or a baby shop from an independent car seat retailer specialist xx
@Laura could you rear face him in the front so you can stop him?
No cos his seat is isofix only and my car doesn’t have isofix in the front 🫠
Stick some Velcro on the buckle button so he doesn’t do it again as it will be uncomfortable if he tries. If that doesn’t work get a new car seat getting advice from a car safety specialist as at this age I’m shocked to hear this is possible what a clever boy x
