Oat based pancakes. You can make your own oat flour in a food processor, or mix in oats with a mashed banana egg some baking powder and a little flour. So easy and oats are great at getting things moving. Homemade pear puree also works a treat. Coconut is a laxative in high quantity too so coconut veggie curry with chickpeas and wholegrain rice a great option. It's not just fibre needed it's also fluids so perhaps hydrating high fibre foods like soups and stews too. Chicken dill lemon soup with veg and small pasta pieces is a fav in our house. Chopped dried fig is high in fibre and a great porridge topper too. Hope that helps!
@Abbie thank you. It's soo hard to get him to eat fruit. I keep trying but he just leaves it. Wholemeal bread we have moved to for him. Pasta he normally loves with my homemade hidden veg sauce but he has gone off it. He hates the texture of Weetabix. Not heard of oativix, I will have a look. Xx
@Chloe yes my boy loves banana oat pancakes, I tried adding in raspberries but he didn't touch it, think coz of the bits. I will defo look at soups and stews. Perfect season for them. Coconut veg curry sounds good, but he doesn't normally eat curry. Xx
@Emma perhaps coconut rice with veggies grated into it? Used to do this in a rice cooker, v easy x
My daughter suffered awful even though she’s a good eater she will eat anything out infront of her including fruit and veg which should have helped. My last resort was chia seeds and it worked amazingly! Just add some to a Youghurt or can even roll a banana in them they are amazing I swear by them x
My little ones struggles for awhile now she takes Movicol, eats certain things to help too. Fruits beginning with p are good plums, pears, peaches etc also white bread is a hard one for my lo she has wholemeal bread pasta crackers etc, also if giving weetabix they don’t help either a good alternative is oatibix or oat flakes my daughter loves them, also berries are good and if u can incorporate prunes they also really help. Not meals but hope it helps 😊
