@Sinead ahh I want to be your friend!!! 😂❤️ you are so wise and so right. This was a lovely reply to read. Thank you. 🫶🏼xxxx
This sounds like something my dad might do, I'm 33 and he still can't remember my birthday but he can tell me all about something that happened one day when he was 5, it's just how he is and it's not intentional but I totally get your frustration
no worries, when it comes to my family i can get very heated and overwhelmed and it usually takes someone impartial to help me see the importance of things😊 i’m glad i could help 🫶🏻🫶🏻xxxx
It’s just a dad thing my dad could never remember anyone’s name and would make up his own, I’d give anything for him to be here now and making up names again, give your dad some slack 💕
I can’t relate to the name thing But the hair thing pisses me off! My daughter is also a redhead after me, and my exes family call her ginger nut etc and I’m like you do realise she’s your family? Like pack it in before I smack it out of you 😡😡😡 xxx
Not so much remembering a name thing but my FIL spells my sons name wrong despite still having the baby announcement card with his name on stuck to the fridge and it drives me insane, it isn’t even an uncommon name and is spelt the traditional way but like yours will remember really woefully boring stories about the origins of buildings near our house etc 🙃
how old is your dad? it could just be his age, getting older, becoming more forgetful, having so many grandkids names to remember along with his own kids, etc. I’m not necessarily justifying, i understand it can be irritating, but i don’t think it’s something to get this worked up about. He wouldn’t mean to do it, i don’t think it was done maliciously, and our time is short, don’t waste these precious years being angry over inferior things, because one day he won’t be here anymore and this will have been a distant memory ❤️ also my mum is the same as your mum, i’ve just had to learn to let it go over my head 🤣 xx
