Mine use to take a teddy when in baby group but when they moved him to toddler group the took it off him and only gave it during his nap. After a while he stopped asking for it so stopped taking it. I think this is the reason he still sucks his fingers!!

Same as Cheryl above, in babies she had teddy all of the day. Then in toddlers it was only during naps and when she stopped napping we decided to talk to her about leaving him at home, at first she would leave him in the car so she knew when she got picked up he would be there straight away and then she gradually started to leave him at home x

@Jenny thank you at home he’s not bothered by his rabbit etc it’s just nursery he says it calms him down xx

@Cheryl (Can't See Waves) thank you he will leave his rabbit at home sorry I should have said it’s just nursery that’s the issue he says it calms him down xx

I still put my boys teddy in his bag so he knows it's there if he needs it. Although I don't think he's taken it out in months. If it's something that gives him comfort I don't see any rush to remove it. He will probably grow out of it in his own time.

Working at a nursery myself we have several children who bring a comfort item and my son did also. He’s almost 3 now and is less bothered about taking his bunny these days. I try to leave it at home or in his back if I can . If it comforts your child then there should be no issue taking it still but maybe keep in his bag so if he’s unsettled he can have it?

@Lindsay hiya thank you so much I’ll try keeping it in his bag but he gets really upset without it he carries it around all day long bless him I’ll speak to his key person and see if I can get it in his bag/ or see if they can during the day. I’m happy for him to have it but it’s like glued to him when there and I’m fully aware he won’t be able to take it to school xx

Aww bless him, I'd still let him take it he's only there once or twice a week, my little one used to take a teddy but she just stopped asking once she became comfortable with the staff and now she loves going and has lots of friends 🧡

I'd let him keep it, especially if it's a comfort thing and the nursery hasn't said anything, or maybe suggest leaving it in his bag at nursery so he knows it's still there
