First night away from baby

Has anyone left their baby over night yet? We have a gig to go to in March & I thought I’d be ready by then but I’m struggling with the idea of him staying with his grandparents overnight. He’s still up multiple times in the night & tends to just want me during those times otherwise he just absolutely kicks off. The other thing that’s worrying me is that they live 45 mins from us, so not super local if I need to get to him. I’m sure he’ll be fine & I’m working myself up more than I need to, but just wanted to hear others experiences!

Could they stay at yours instead with him or is there anyway you could go to theirs and stay for the night a few times leading up to it so they can help with the bedtime routine maybe so he gets used to them? But honestly I think it's completely normal to worry but you'll probably find he'll be absolutely fine 🙂

We did for the first time 2 weeks ago, I was the same as you but I’m glad we did it. My little one is also up in the night but my mum said to me that if we can do it every night then she can survive one night! Which I thought was a good way of seeing it

I have left my little girl with my mum a few times. I went to a hen last weekend (3 hours away) and was so anxious and worried for months thinking about it. She was absolutely fine and I think it was needed for myself

My girl went for her first sleep over 2 weeks ago and went again on Saturday. She was fine and pretty content, she’s teething so had a few more wakes than normal but it did us both good I think. She doesn’t even react when I go and pick her up though, she’s just like ‘oh hey mum. Look at this dog!’ 🤦🏼‍♀️

I think I’m struggling more because it’s my mother and father in laws, he stays with my mum a couple times a week whilst I work, I just haven’t left him with them before!
