Cold and breastfeeding

I’m exclusively breast feeding and have woken up with a sore throat - it’s just me with her during the day, is it worth me trying to stay away from her at all? I’m assuming my breastmilk will protect her?

I had this last week. When reading online it seemed to suggest feeding her still would be the best protection rather than staying away. So I just made sure I sanitised and washed my hands all the time. While fighting a toddler who just wanted to kiss her baby sister while she had the same cold as me. Baby got a bit congested but otherwise seems to have avoided most of the germs.

Just keep up good hand hygiene. Your body will add in immunity to your breastmilk to help baby try to fight it off

Also if baby gets a cold give them lots of kisses cause your body responds to their germs!

You'll be fine if BF. You will pass on antibodies to baby x

Just continue as normal but probably avoid kissing her and obviously turn away when coughing/sneezing :) you’ll give her plenty of antibodies to help her body fight whatever you have
