Why does my breast milk smell like butter????

Hello ladies, I’ve noticed within the last 2 weeks my breast milk smells and looks different. For context, my baby will be 11 months on the 26th, and she combo feeds. My breast milk never smells like anything, and when it’s freshly expressed, it seems normal. But when I put it in the fridge and warm it the next day (sit the bag in warm water) it smells like butter and it leaves a soapy residue in the bottle. Baby seems fine and she drinks it just fine, but what is wrong with me???

High lipase! This happened to me with my second son. Mine smelled like soap but I've heard it may sometimes smell like butter as well

@Leslie what do I do???? Or is it just something that you can’t do anything about? 😭😭

I had to freeze my milk to make the smell go away. There's nothing really yoy can do for it. It's causes are also unknown so that doesn't help either. My son wouldn't drink my milk when it had the soapy smell and I don't blame him. Also sorry for the late response. I got kicked out of the app and couldn't get back in until today 🙃
