Why do people get sensitive about

Some mom posted that gerber food was 50% off in the store . I commented that gerber has active lawsuits for the metals and other bad things in the food that are causing autism and other problems with babies and children. They got mad and said I’m shaming them for their choice to buy gerber. I thought I was spreading awareness just in case they did not know about it. Why do ppl feel guilty for their choices and then get mad at me for saying something. I would want someone to tell me.

I didn't know about the Gerber lawsuits, that's the brand I mostly got for both my kids. I appreciate you spreading awareness, don't pay attention to the other people, who knows why they freak out like that

I mean your intention was to inform but I can see her side as well. She probably didn’t feel guilty about her choice until you mentioned the lawsuits and she maybe felt embarrassed

Because people don’t like facts and get defensive if their choices are not good choices

I always tell moms to avoid Gerber What they gonna do with this information and how they interpret it depends on them

Autism is a naturally occurring neurobiological difference, not a “problem” to be “fixed”. And not caused by things in food. I agree that there are toxic ingredients and additives in our food in the US that should be regulated like elsewhere in the world. But spreading misinformation about disabilities is harmful. Your words matter.

lol not you citing the ai generated google search as proof. Anyways I agree that heavy metals shouldn’t be in food. Your OP was asking why people are sensitive about your comment. It’s likely because of your delivery and lack of consideration for people’s experiences. There are 100% moms on here who are autistic themselves and/or parents of autistic children and/or allies of the neurodivergent community (me included) who don’t appreciate your use of autism as a fear mongering tool.
