BLW sodium

How much salt are we allowing in solids for our 8 month olds?? It’s pretty easy to stay away from sugar but it’s been so tricky to know how much salt is okay! I’ve been staying with low sodium/no salt options where I can but I’m curious what everyone is doing? My baby is a foodie so it’s getting tough haha

If he's eating what we are he gets the same amount of salt as us. If I make him something for just him it's completely salt free. I don't stress too much about it.

I’ve never measured salt & sugar for my 2 lol. I really don’t care.

I've been giving no salt at all for my 9m old as cooking rice separately. She sometimes has what we have then she'll have minimal salt.

Under 1 the recommendation is less than 1g salt a day. This can be balanced over a couple days if needed, so if you have a day you go slightly over then the next day go under.

@Mary Lynn I second this! Sometimes if I can make a meal salt-free and add salt to mine and hubby’s plate, I will. But I don’t stress it too much anymore, as long as she gets water after :)
