Sleeping through ..

What do we class as sleeping through the night? I see some people saying oh they sleep through - 12 hours with 1 wake. But the wake would imply not sleeping through surely? Last night my boy did his longest ever stretch of 7hr15. Is this sleeping through? It was 11pm-6.15am

I remember being told that a stretch of 6 hours or more is considered sleeping through

I heard 7 hrs is considered to be sleeping through

That's why people need to be careful when reading anything on social media. I would think like you have a wake up implies not sleeping through. 6 or 7 hours is meant to be sleeping through. The issue comes when does it start? If my baby does 11pm till 6 am that's 7 hrs and I would consider sleeping through. But if he went to bed at 8pm and woke up at 3 I wouldn't and it is the same amount of hours 🤣

I dream of sleeping through . He’s 11 weeks and thanks to colic and reflux is up every 2 hours.

Me personally I would say sleeping through is no wake up x

@Conchi yes definitely. Lots of people say their little ones have been sleeping through since 6 weeks or so, I’m sure some of them have. But I’d be interested to know their definition of sleeping through! I’m the same though about the 7 hours. It felt like a full night because of the timing of it 😂

I always find interesting how other parents deceive things . I was talking to a mun who said oh mine is a terrible sleeper. I was like I'm so sorry. After more talking and derail, it turned out our babies were pretty similar sleeping wise. I qas saying he was OK, she said terrible. I guess it is expectations

@Claire this is what I’m going through still at 13 weeks 🥲

Atm LO does between 6 to 8 hours first sleep before waking up for a change and a feed and will sleep a few more hours after that till it's time to get up at half 7 to 8am. But they go to bed at around 7:30 to 8:30 at night and so I expect them to wake up at some point and not sleep all the way through to their wake up time.
