@Beth I thought everyone got it if they earn over a certain amount?
You pay money in say £100 - then they top it up to say £120. You then have to go into the child care account and make the payment to the nursery or you can set up an automatic monthly payment. It’s really easy. Just make sure you apply for Nursey well in advance as they have such long wait lists Everyone is eligible so long as both parents are working and neither parent earns over £100k which js annoying as two parents can earn £90k each but if one earns £105k and one earns £10k you cant get it ! X
Yes don’t get it until september you can also only apply 31 days before you go back to work - everyone gets it as long as you don’t earn over 100k, you get a code to give to the nursery and then you can also get tax free which you set up an account and for every £8 you put in, the govement puts in £2 and you use this online account to pay the nursery any remaining x
@Jade thank you. So you can just add money into it and then you have to actually go onto the account to send it to the nursery? I went and got a place at his nursery when he was 6 weeks old because I’d heard if this haha
@Katie you can set it up as a regular payment each month. Nursery manager here - I recommend to parents to send their fees from their current accounts on 27th of the month, top up happens within 24hrs normally, then they set their regular payment to leave the TFC account on the 29th to reach nursery for the 1st of the month. Check what date your fees are due at nursery and work backwards a couple of days - remember bank holidays can through the system out as well! It has its flaws but is generally easy to use!
I think you only qualify for 15 free child hours if you live in a flying start area. Don’t think everyone is eligible! If I’m wrong, please can someone let me know? I was gutted!!
