I give mine something everyday as it's routine. If you're making own puree, batch cook then and freez into ice cubes. Id suggest individual ingredients in each cube to create own puree
Hey don’t worry. Finding energy mentally and physically is challenging. Just bear in mind that happier baby = happier mummy and you as her mummy will notice if your baby seems more content on the days she eats purées or foods over the days where she doesn’t. Also you may get away with it for now and being new to solids is a transition but as you know time is flying for us! and soon she will nutritionally rely on regular meals so let’s think of ways and nacks where it helps you to get into the routine of things. For my 6 month I find the cow & gate 4-6 month+ baby porridge so helpful! similar to aptamil baby porridge. Just one spoon porridge powder , few spoons of boiling water, mix and it’s very gentle on their stomachs, filling and babies love it! If you really only want to make your own fresh stuff, I have also tried blending plain oats and mixing a small amount with bbies regular milk, microwave & a bit of banana mixed in. Aptamil rice powder with regular milk is also a time save
not at all i read somewhere food before 1 is just for fun so don’t stress as long as their getting milk their healthy and growing :) i give something most days just as its fun to see his reaction even if its just something of mine or his dads plate from tea or a snack im having throughout the day x
Umm im just starting solids now so no you're doing amazing
You’re not a bad mum at all, but I would try to give at least something every single day. It can be something easy like toast, or a few bites from your own food. Babies don’t need special meals, they can eat what you do just without added salt, sugar, or honey. The saying that food before 1 is just for fun isn’t really accurate. Breastmilk remains the main source of nutrition, but not the only one. Food is needed to slowly provide additional nutrients, such as iron, as the baby’s reserve of it starts to deplete around the 6 month mark. It’s also good to build a routine and get your child used to eating, as you should be aiming for 3 meals a day, in addition to their usual breastmilk, by around 9 months.
Not at all bad there is so much to juggle with a LO. I do feed / offer mine solid food three times a day now she is happier for having the meals and more content which helps us both. I think routine really helps, as has already been said batch cooking and freezing baby meals is a big time saver, doesn’t always have to be a separate special meal they can have what you are eating as long as it doesn’t have loads of salt/sugar, my LO loves having a bit of my food which also helps keep her entertained allowing me to eat.
No not a bad mum at all! I haven’t been giving food every day, I’m still finding my feet with this whole weaning journey so I haven’t been doing it every single day. We’ve had a few days off. It’s a big change and milestone, it takes some getting used to. You’re doing just fine 🩷
