Pregnant again

Are any of you from October 2024 babies pregnant again?/ are you planning to be pregnant again soon? Is it safe to have another baby back to back and not wait at least two years like I got told at the WIC office.

I was told 18 months. We got pregnant after 11 months PP. Your body takes forever to heal so that’s why it’s recommended to not have them back to back.

@Marla what would happen if you didn’t wait the recommended time ?

I was told 12 months! I told my OB that we were thinking 10 months but she said she would recommend 10 months. But if we were to start earlier to keep taking prenatal vitamins all these months before conceiving

I don't plan on ever being pregnant again 😂! I think it really comes down to your delivery type. If you had a c-section, you should try to wait that long, especially if you're hoping to have a VBAC. If you had a vaginal delivery, I feel like I heard minimum 6 months but that seems too close to me honestly. The risks also depend on your delivery type if you got pregnant closer together. C-section has risk of uterine rupture, I believe in both types theres higher rates of things being off with baby (lower birth weight, etc) and higher chances of something going wrong for mom during delivery. If you are pregnant again already though, don't panic. Plenty of women are just fine in that situation.

@Jovana really? What does all the prenatal do before conceiving? I hear it a lot and to use it before, during, and after but no one has never really explained the importance as in why.

@Grace yeah you’re absolutely correct it all depends on the delivery type. But my pregnancy was hard and not easy and not fun at all. So I do not plan for it to happen soon. And why don’t you plan on never again ? 🤣🤣 are you done or did you want more but now that changed ?!

i had a baby aug 2023 then found out feb 2024 that we were expecting (unexpectedly) another due in oct 2024. do i recommend? not really it was super hard but again it was unexpected and honestly this third baby has been a breeze lol so i mean its not going to be detrimental if it happens but its not the best for your body. i have had 3 csections now

i will say tho… i feel like my 3rd PP journey has been harder. i struggled more immediately PP with pain and i think it’s because my last 2 were so close together

I have an August 2023 baby and a October 2024 baby. I love how close they are HOWEVER I do not recommend pregnancies that close. With your second your body knows what it needs to do and maybe it was because of that or the fact I was chasing a child but I was in constant pain after my first trimester and pronominal labor from 31 weeks on. I was induced with both and I had my second in 8 hours and my first in 15 hours. Mentally it really was hard because I had a baby and was having another baby so lots of I didn’t spend enough time with just her guilt the stress having to plan childcare while giving birth, laboring around an infant etc. I don’t know if I will have another has I’m super back and forth with it but I do know if I do it won’t be until right around school starting in 2026 at soonest

It took us over a year to conceive the first and we want one more. We are open to trying as soon as possible and my doctor cleared me but recommended 6 months in between. I had an uncomplicated vaginal birth.

@Kamari 💛 lol we’re in the same boat! aug 2 and oct 2!

I've had 3 back to back babies. We're currently trying for 1 more baby which will be my last.

I have two, a boy and a girl, so I feel content with my two! I wont say never, but I hate being pregnant. It makes me so anxious! And I really don't want to give birth again 😂😂

@Breeze how many months pp each time? Was it harder to be pregnant super early pp? If under 6 months pp

@Hanah N. I was 9 month pp with my 1st when I got pregnant with my 2nd and 6 months pp with my 2 when I got pregnant with my 3rd. The only thing that was hard was last trimester my hips killed me. It was hard to get up and down on the floor with my kids. But keeping active helped with the pain

@Emily mine are Aug 7 and Oct 23

She said keep taking prenatal to make sure your body has enough iron and vitamins as I’m breastfeeding and plus if I want to conceive to make sure my body is having enough vitamins and it’s properly taken care off. Something along those lines lol
