Feeding Advice

What do you do with your toddlers while feeding your babies? I'm trying to breastfeed but am finding it really hard to give my toddler enough attention, keep him entertained and out of trouble while I'm basically glued to the sofa feeding.

Give toddler a snack. I make sure my toddler has a drink too. Put some music on for them to dance to. Ask them to get a certain toy. “Can you get me a pink toy?” And he runs to find a pink toy and shows me it

How old is your toddler? Are there some books, interactive toys, that you can read to him/play with him that only needs you to use one hand. I had a basket in each room with fidget toys/books with flaps/small musical toys/flash cards in which I could use to interact with my toddler at the same time as feeding my youngest. It was tricky to start with but once I got the knackered it was easier. The trickiest bit for me was having to stop my eldest from going and playing with the oven (one bed flat) or picking her up when she fell down as she was only just getting used to walking so still had lots of tumbles (13m between my two).

I used to beastfeed my youngest while I helped my toddler with an activity. So I'd be sitting with him and fully giving attention with the baby
