As long as it’s not sustained at a high level then they won’t be too concerned. Do you have a home monitor? Im medicated for my blood pressure and have been told to take my readings twice a day at home and it’s always substantially lower than it is at any appointments. If you can keep an eye on it at home then you can get a more accurate idea of what your resting blood pressure is.
@Stephanie thank you! No I don’t but I might get one. They just sent me home and said it was fine. I felt reassured and I asked if this could happen every time I go to the routine midwife appointment (eg high blood pressure, then sent to triage) and they said it’s a possibility. Just thought it was odd that the readings were so wildly different. My last two readings at my midwife appointment have been higher than usual/ recorded as rising. Will see what happens at the next midwife appointment x
Please bear in mind that it is normal for BP to rise during the day. From stress, anxiety, to exercise, to walking. As long as it comes back down when resting etc
This happened to me. 3 high readings at midwife then all fine at PAU. I was blaming the midwife's machine. I've had manual readings done since and they have been fine.
Yep I had this a couple of weeks ago...think I might have posted...but also the fact we're sat almost relaxing and nearly lying down in Triage should make your blood pressure come down. My blood pressure in Triage was even lower than my normal at home and checked it at home lying down vs sitting up and there was a change! I'm tracking it at home every other day just for my own monitoring in case it is high next time I see the midwife.
@Ruth this is so true. I was practically reclined eating biscuits and drinking a cuppa that they made me in triage and my blood pressure was the same it was in my first trimester 🥲 think I’ll start monitoring it at home too and keep an eye on it.
Same happened with me
I had this too. It was high on the Fri, then high on the Mon but then by Weds back down to normal and has been fine since. X
