Have you tried making the bathroom really hot? I found it was the shock of coming into the cold I think! I put a mini heater in the bathroom before the bath and heat it up and she doesn’t cry coming out any more. I also then have the heating on in the room I take her to before she’s dressed etc.
My 3 months old does same and it breaks my heart. I noticed those cries are more of wanting to sleep so I just let him cry out most times while I console him with sounds. I don’t do any major thing about it
I forgot to add that I breastfeed immediately after dressing him up and that finally puts him to sleep
My 3 month old did this a few times, I just got her out the bath really slowly and put her down slowly it seemed to be the shock of the cold and moving her around, also make sure don’t get water in ears think it use to be this. She has stopped doing it now just seemed to be a phase x
Is it immediately as you take him out the bath? My boy used to cry loads too but since I started to put a cushion on the toilet seat lid then his towel and I wrap him up on there straight away so he's warm and comfy. Dry him there. Keep a fresh towel on radiator, then carry him in fresh warm towel into bedroom where I put his nappy & sleepsuit on. He's not cried since I did this x
We don’t bath in the bathroom for this reason, he hated it in there with the air being colder. We have a baby bath and I put it in our bedroom next to the radiator so the room is warm and he has been much better. He still cries when I take him out like he’s just been born 😂 but normally calms as soon as I’ve wrapped him up. I also think it depends how tired he is too. If I bath him before bed it’s always worse and he cries until he’s dressed x
I think its the shock of a warm bath to cold
Thank you all! We have tried all of the above, warm bath room before we go in, warm towels after the bath, lullaby while changing, we tried dropping bath temperature in case it was too hot, also tried shortening the time in the bath. But still the same, will take a break from a bath and resume in few days. My guess is that it might be irritability after 12 weeks vaccination 🤷♀️ as he usually loves his bath and during changing he used to smile 😭
My little one does this too! I don't really have any tips to stop it but originally I was getting her out and then getting her dressed right away in the bathroom which basically just prolonged her discomfort. She hates getting dressed at the best of times. I was getting flustered, she was getting flustered, it was awful. Now I just get a nappy on her, wrap her up in the towel and get her into our bedroom ASAP to calm down with some milk and a cuddle before getting her dressed. Makes the ordeal less unpleasant!
