My son has absolutely no words. None

He is very social otherwise. We play so many games together, and he often seeks our attention by tapping us to look at him. He understands some things that we say to him, so I can see that he connects words to meanings. But it's like he feels no need to actually speak. He babbles, but that's not it. And even babbling isn't always equally frequent. Are there other moms with similar experiences?

My son kind of says thank you "ta ta" says mama and Dada randomly and "nahh" for mostly everything else he points at. I taught him sign language though he will sign for "food" "more" "all done" and "bed" I suggest trying to teach him a few words like those!

Before two weeks ago my LO didn’t have any words, but then he woke up one day and just started talking! Kids are weird lol I worked on “up” with him for a couple days — when he asked to be picked up, I’d pick him up and then say “u-puh” and blow gently in his face on the “p” sound. That seemed to make a lightbulb go off for him:) good luck!

My daughter says like 6 ish words but my son before her didn’t start talking about closer to 2

My son is the same. A ton of babbling. He most recently started singing along or talking along with Ms Rachel.

What about sounds? Those count as words... cat, dog, duck sound.. Mama dada?
