Hey, I was diagnosed with GD at 34 weeks, was tested at 20 weeks but nothing came back of it. They advised at the start my baby may be smaller due my my low Papp-a but he is now the opposite as they’ve said he has a large tummy, head circumference and long femur. They’ve put me on 1 metformin a day and my levels have been good since we are having growth scans every 2 weeks to keep an eye xxx
Don’t always take measurements as gospel. I had GD and was told my baby was measuring big the whole way through pregnancy, that she’s huge!! She was actually born 6lb 12 at 38+1 and was tiny. They’ll just want you to monitor your sugars and stick to the diet they discuss with you. I was told by my consultant closer to birth is when sugars are most important as they can affect babies sugars when they’re born. My sugars never played ball and my fasting readings were always sky high no matter how strict I stuck to the diet. And I did really stick to it I lost so much weight and became obsessed with what I ate. In the end I had to have 4 metformin tablets a day (max dose) plus 16 units of insulin every evening and was on an insulin drip during labour and my daughter was absolutely fine. Your little one should be fine, at least now you know and can get your sugars under control. Good luck!
She shouldn’t feel any impacts she might just be a larger baby and not end up with a dinky seven pounder x
