As solid intake increases the milk intake decreases. That’s very normal as long as he has between 500-700ml a day and take 3 meals he should be fine. The thing is if they don’t want it you can’t force them.
Thanks both! No where near 500ml. We offer 4 bottles (because he wakes a lot) of 150ml a day, he’s refusing at least 2. He’s crying now won’t drink. He last had some formula at 3pm :(
@Leanne Does he take his solid and water?
@Taraneh he’s eating his solids. We currently do 2 meals, breakfast and dinner, snacks for lunch as naps roughly 12-13:30/14:00. Water no idea, I think a lot ends up on him not drinking, and he never finished a whole cup in a day x
@Leanne I think as long as he’s going up on his growth chart and not losing weight you are fine. It is very frustrating when their habits change overnight but honestly I have learnt they know better how much to eat. Don’t worry mama
@Taraneh thank you, his twin sister is the opposite and loves her milk! X
@Leanne oh bless your heart you have twins 😭 you’re a super mom! ❤️
@Taraneh and a 3 year old 😅 it’s a mad house ha x
My little girl has recently had a mega appetite decrease she’s probably getting like 10oz a day now she does has 3 meals and 2 snacks though even if she doesn’t eat all her food I just tell myself that she’s having wet and dirty nappies, she has energy and she’s gaining weight she must be getting what she needs. Now that there almost 1 I don’t see an issue of she’s not loving the milk they don’t need it if they don’t want it at this age just make sure there having dairy in there diet butter, cheese and yoghurt.
@Leanne oh girrrrlllllllllll how do you do it??? I have one and I’m like tired all the time 🤦🏻♀️
@Taraneh I’m lucky I have a helpful mum and MIL!! But it is super tough! He’s also decided to drink all his milk today so that’s good haha x
Is he eating a lot of food during the day? He could just have more interest in solids… The milk cutoff isn’t a switch that suddenly flips at 12 months. It’s supposed to be a gradual transition. I wouldn’t stress it as long as he’s eating well with solids!
