Feeding problems.

I’ve been feeding my baby one jar of a fruit or veg puree (alternates daily) a day. And now she’s had a fully solid poop. She’s almost 7 months old. Should I continue the one a day or should I spread them out more. Also her 6oz bottles no longer seem to be enough for her. I even made her a total of 10oz and she’s still screaming as soon as the bottle is empty. What am I supposed to do here.

I give mine 2 of the 4 oz packets a day. Yes, they usually poop right after as that’s expected. How many 6 ounce bottles? I’d add in more solid foods or another bottle. I wouldn’t feed more than 6 ounces at a time. Their stomach is still too little.

Have you tried feeding her solids twice a day? I would give that a try and see if it helps. If she seems constipated try giving her some water at meal times. Foods high in fiber like peaches or prunes can help also.

Baby just turned 7 months today and I have also noticed that his fruit purées are causing solid poop and constipation. I’m not sure what to do about that. On the other end, he’s opposite and mostly refusing to eat anything. Milk, purées, teething snacks, real fruit. Nothing. He doesn’t seem interested in food. It is a daily struggle and a ton of stress to get him to eat some days. She’s probably going through a growth spurt which requires more food or teething pain. They like to eat more when teeth are coming in. Not because they are actually hungry but because it soothes their gums. Could she be teething?

Baby should be on two meals a day. Soild poop is normal. 6oz is golden for this age.

My son eats 3 oz of puree/mashed food twice a day and breast feeds on demand. We are working up to 3 times a day but its hard to make time. We only do bottles on the one day I work a full day so I don't know exactly how much he gets, but he definitely needs 6 oz at least every 3 hours when he's there. More solid poops should be expected as soon as they start eating food. When you say solid do you mean hard or just more like an adult poop? If it's hard I'd talk to your pediatrician about how to deal with constipation - generally water (small anount) and high fiber foods are helpful.

My daughter is 7 months today And since 6 months we’ve given two purées a day , plus milk as her main source and regular dinner with us…
