Bottle refusal

Hey, I’m back at work and expressing milk to give to my daughter in a bottle. She’s refusing and won’t drink any milk at all from a bottle. I work 12 hours shifts, any tips to help me get her to take a bottle 😭.

Has she ever taken a bottle?

Mam bottles teat size 2 helped us and giving it to them with food

Have you tried giving it in a straw cup? My little girl has milk in a tumtum cup

My daughter is really hit and miss with a bottle but will drink from an open cup/sippy cup. Might be worth giving it a try?

My health visitor didn’t advise even trying a bottle anymore after like 6 months since they shouldn’t really drink from bottles after one year anyway. Try a sippy cup or straw cup instead.

I’ve tried mam bottles with size 2 teat and I’ve tried a straw cup and sippy cup/beaker! No luck, she pushes it away☹️. I’ve not tried an open cup yet so will give that a go thank you!

@Georgina she has when she was a few months old but only twice and took it absolutely fine, now she’s older she just completely refuses

Will she drink water from anything?

My LO is at nursery now and is BF and I’ve been sending her in with formula as she’s only refusing bottles etc, however they have managed to get her to take two lots of 2.5oz at nursery - not loads but also she’s having SO many solids that now I just feed her in the morning and at bedtime and she seems fine, not waking up to feed or anything so I wouldn’t stress too much if your LO seems ok, is eating solids and staying hydrated with water

@Samantha id say it's unlikely that you'll get her to take it now unfortunately. Focus on straw cups theirs once that you can squeeze which may help her for milk think they are called honey bear straw cups and I'd say they'd be worth a try

My little girls is BF and I express and send it into nursery (she does take a bottle fine though) some days she refuses the milk all together, but I still feed her before she goes and before bed and she eats loads there and also drinks lots of water too so I’m not soo concerned!
