I'd follow the advice from local health services?
Yes you do until 12 months. The reason is because after washing the botttles and pump there may be left over milk and this can course germs to grow even if we think we cleaned it the best. It’s a pain I know but it’s only another 6 month lol
@Boo i sterilized every few days and stopped at 6 months too but it was only for my pump equipment i honestly didn't do it to bottles as the hospital didn't say i needed to
@hannah advice in the UK is slightly different 😊
I sterilise every single time. I have a few sets of cups and sterilising bags. I just wash them all up. Main one in the microwave autoclave and the rest in the bags. Microwave them one after the other. That way I can go out with the ones in the bag and by the time the day is done they're all used and I wash them up for my last couple of pumps before bed.
Australian advice is just hot soapy water. BM comes with its own protections.
I bought a Dr Browns sterilizer and I wash baby’s bottles, pacifier and even his bottle brush cleaner every time after he uses them especially now since he’s got thrush. It doesn’t take long for them to sterilize in total about 45 minutes
Honestly, it's whatever you feel comfortable with. I only sterilize every few days, and I think I stopped around the time my son was 6 months or so.
