We normally only do one side per session, and she drinks for about 10- 20 minutes. She's much more efficient than my son was at her age, but he eventually got there.
It honestly depends for me- but my girl is 8 weeks and she’s doing about the same as yours. Sometimes she’s longer- sometimes she just wants a little snack 😂
the time varies for my girl. She will cluster feed, 5 minutes here, 20 minutes there, and so forth.
My son will literally be attached to me for 45 mins or longer! Ive been trying to keep him more active and alert while feeding but he does a little snacking in between feeding It is becoming tiresome.
My daughter is 6 weeks and will be on one side for around 5 minutes and get to work! Then she’ll feed again around 45 minutes to an hour later on the other side for 5 minutes and pass out!
My son will nurse for about 5-10 mostly only one side i have a fast letdown

I only do one side per feed, and it’s anywhere from 8-12 mins during the day, and ~20m at his bedtime feed, which gets us 8+ hours before his next feed. I went to a local breastfeeding group that did a weigh-feed-weigh, and he got 5oz in 8 mins on one side.
My daughter is 8 weeks and she used to latch for like 20 minutes each boob i noticed lately shes only latching for maybe 10 to 15 minutes before falling asleep or coming off the boob!
@Sarah wow! I did that and he only got about 2oz in that amount of time
Mine is 10 weeks old now and she only nurses about 5-6 minutes each side but fully drains them. She’s very efficient. I’m sure your little guy will get there 🙂
