Unfortunately my family lives in a different city, and his mum can only have him a day due to work
Can you increase their nursery hours? UC will fund up to 85% of the bill?
I’m not entitled to UC, when I’m back at work unfortunately and I’m teasing him to full time means paying 1250 per month which leaves me no better off
Not sure if it would work for you but I'm going to hopefully work 4 days with him in nursery 3 days so only paying 2 with the 15 hours funding the 4th day will be Dad/ grandparents on rotation so they only have him once a month then we'll see how it's going but have the option of a4th day in nursery from September when the 30 hours funding hopefully goes ahead do basically we'll only ever pay 2 days of nursery. It's still a lot but it's the only way I can go back to work and we can't live off 1 wage as not entitled to any benefits
Erm, it shouldn’t just be down to you to ‘figure out’ your partner should help/make some sacrifices also! X
Unfortunately I’ve clearly had a child with the wrong person and now I’m stuck alone even though we are living together and trying to figure it all out without a support system
@Leanne I mean, yeah I didn't want to say it!
@Rachel sometimes you have to say it how it is, and I’m fully aware of it as well, which is what makes it worse but I’m now in the situation where I have to figure it out, the only thing I can think off is to put him in nursery for the two day and the other 3 days I’m working is to go and stay at my mums so she can watch him and I do a 2 hour drive to work and back
Or you could sack him off totally, get yourself a place, get some universal credits, and get some help with childcare costs! ..... Only slightly joking!
Do your nursery even have availability for the other days you may need?
could family support with anymore days if it's just adhoc when he does overtime and not every week. My family can't do every week but are more than happy to do random as and when days if they can
