Nursery room change

Our little one has moved to the toddler room now that they’re two. The room feels very different - a lot older and more chaotic. I appreciate these things take time but I’ve noticed a change in our little one’s temperament. They become angry a lot more now (could be linked to terrible twos) and don’t want to go to nursery and cry at drop off. Seems silly but I also miss the old room, especially the staff. Does it get better?

It’s natural our toddler room starts at 18 months so my little one is now settled and will be moving to the next room in about 4 months (there are four rooms in total) - it will settle down it just takes time x

It gets easier! Hang in there… I’m a mum of a just gone 2 year old that moved beginning of January. He was too big for babies but still my baby and seemed so small going into toddlers. I’m also a nursery manager 🤦‍♀️ behaviour becomes challenging at this age and they test boundaries whilst trying to negotiate new play skills, particularly problem solving. It should all settle down in a few weeks. Have you spoken to his nursery are they aware of how you’re feeling?

Our LB moved up to the toddler room in January. Our nursery had a mid room from 15 months to 22 months but the difference in the toddler room was huge. For the first 2 weeks he was really upset, but he has settled down now and loves it. In the first week they said he was holding onto our family photos all day which broke my heart. We also had issues with him pushing other children but that has resolved itself and he is now happy taking turns. It will get better x

Our toddler room started at 18 months and I desperately requested that she stay in babies longer as she just seemed too small and still ‘a baby’, she was prem and is very particular about everything! At first, I missed the staff and felt like she wouldn’t cope as drop offs were still a nightmare, but she completely proved me wrong and within a week absolutely thrived and showed that she was more than ready! ☺️
