What do you usually offer?
@Maria I was out post nap in IKEA twice recently and I knew we’d be a while so I took things like chopped up grapes / carrot wafers / cut up 🍓 Just to occupy her a little really.
If I'm eating a meal slightly later than her or half way between lunch and dinner as she gets hungry then I'll give her a snack like a yogurt, melty puffs, fruit or rice cakes
I'll give her a snack if she hungry and I'm still cooking dinner. This could be a small bit of fruit, melt puffs, wafer
We do breakfast at 7, snack at 10:30/11 after nap, lunch 12:30, snack at 3, dinner at 4:30/5, bottle at 7. She refuses bottles first thing in the morning and through the day, so we had to replace with snacks on advice from the HV. I usually offer fruit, yoghurt, rice cakes etc x
Only if lunch is going to be late I'll do a quick snack around 11am to keep him going particularly needed on swimming days. Sometimes if dinner is taking a while and not going to be ready by 5pm I'll give him something to nibble while I cook normally fruit or melty sticks
If I’m eating something that he can’t have but he wants a bit then I give him a lil rice cake or melty stick or something so he doesn’t feel left out 😅 but that’s it really
I normally give her a snack around half 4 when I'm cooking dinner. Half to keep her occupied and half as a snack. Sometimes she eats all of it, sometimes she picks. We all eat at 6 so it doesn't impact roo much on her eating dinner. I used to give her a snack after her bottle at 11, but she stopped really eating it after the novelty wore off so I stopped.
I offer a snack at 3:30pm when she wakes from her nap. Usually some fruit and some bread sticks.
My LO has a snack after her morning nap around 10.30 am and sometimes around 4pm as she gets hangry even though she has a bottle at 3pm x
I’ve given snacks when I know we will be late for lunch.
