how old are they x
@Sasha I guess born August 2023
@Ditu 😂😂😂😂 i didn't even see that lol im so silly lol
My mom said that I would barely babble, but I didn’t really speak until two. babies seem to either advance physically or verbally first. It isnt usually both. My girl is very physical and walked early but babbles (13 months) my friend‘s baby is the same age, and she can barely stand up, but seems to annunciate a little better
My little boy is 18 months and he still isn’t talking yet, he is babbling like mad and very expressive but no words. We have been referred to a speech therapist today, the waiting list is 7/8 months but they have given us activities to try and help until we have our first session. It’s put my mind at ease so much and they were so helpful, I went through my health visitor then they sent me to “Chatter Matters” which is a speech and language group! Hope this helps x
my girls 18m and says so much she's very advanced for her age she talks more than my sisters boys and there 2 😂🤦♀️ every child is different tho x
My girl says a lot of words, she can count to 12 and sings the alphabet. But she isn’t walking yet ! So she’s definitely a talker not a walker 🤣🤣
@Ditu yes there are 2 languages spoken in the house at times xo
@Sasha 18 months xo
@Kahman don’t panic, especially if you’re a multilingual family :). It is more often age 2-3+ for children with multi languages being spoken. My son is June 2023 and says “yeah” and that’s it. No other words. It’s not a concern before 2, as I’ve been told by SALT and through my knowledge in working in SEN also. Not sure how you’re doing it but the best way to do it if you want your child to do both is for one parent speaking one language to the child, and then the other parent speaking the other. You can of course flit between between you both but as parents, sticking to the one language with your child helps them to learn it without the information overload from learning both words for everything in one go. Xx
@Kahman that’s why your child doesn’t talk yet. Bilingual children always take much much longer than kids with one language. It’s very normal. Side of them will take 3 years to talk if they have more than one language at home
Thank you all for the replies❤️it’s put my mind at ease❤️
My little girl is the same she’s 18months and doesn’t say any words, we have noticed a difference in sounds though so there’s more letters coming out just not full words x
Is your baby bilingual?
