I don’t let my bottles dry after using the Milton sterilising tablets so I don’t see how a pump would be any different x
Thank you! Also, do you wash up your bottles and pump in the normal kitchen sink (before milton) or have a special washing up bowl for bits to be washed in? I’m antibac-ing my kitchen sink constantly before washing the bits in there with washing up liquid and don’t know if it’s overkill? Or maybe it’s easier i get a separate washing up bowl specially for them?
I just wash my bits in the sink, and make sure to keep the sink clean throughout the day. When I sterilise my pump I leave it wet or let it air dry, as Emily mentioned drying with a tea towel would mean it's not sterile anymore. I only sterilise my pump twice a day now on the advice of a Lactation Consultant, rather than after every use which I was doing at first. But bottles I sterilise every time.
Yeah I think they say air dry, mine is always a bit wet from sterilising, I try and shake it and build it on kitchen roll but still wet x
I wash mine in the normal sink bowl. Most of our (adult) stuff goes in a dishwasher though but I would wash other things in there too if needed x
I have a collapsible washing up bowl that I just have at the side of my sink, wash them in there and rinse them in the sink so they never actually touch the sink
Thanks all!
My pump is always wet after coming out of the steraliser, my thought process is that it’s been steralised so should be fine and more likely to contaminate it by drying with a tea towel? This is just my thought process though and could be wrong!
