One year old hitting herself???

My 15 month old hits herself. I understand it’s normal when they throw their hands around and hit someone else because the don’t want something. But my daughter will hit herself on her head, face, etc. I’ve tried teaching her gentle hands, ignoring it/not giving a big reaction, etc. But it’s every day!! Is this normal? It makes me sad tbh

Asked my pediatrician about this too. My 2yo will hit her head just to make herself cry for attention when she doesn’t get her way. I was told it was toddler behavior, just try to keep the area safe and if she does hit and you can’t redirect to make sure you can safe guard by having soft surfaces (pillow) or putting your hands in the way. I’ve started trying to redirect by offering comforting toys and when I can’t I’ll just make everything as safe as I can and then explain when she’s calmer that she can’t do that it’s not good for her

interesting! My daughter doesn’t do it to make herself cry… I actually have no idea why she does it. Sometimes she even does it when she’s happy. Maybe just big emotions, but good to know she’s not the only one!

Yeah they’re just trying to learn. If anything just bring it up to your pcp! Don’t worry it made me nervous too!

My 20 month boy will slam his head off the floor, when I try and make it softer for him he’ll purposely move the soft stuff to hit his head🫥

my 15 month old does the exact same thing. i was worried too, but everyone i’ve asked just said keep telling them no every time they do it.. they should eventually learn & understand x

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
