Constant pushback from 3 year old 🫠

Our 3 year old is CONSTANTLY saying “no” and pushing back, choosing to not do as we ask, even if we try and make it into a game or make it fun. We end up having to force him to get dressed because he refuses despite trying everything. He sees it as a game, and laughs when we pin him down to get him dressed and out the door. Honestly it’s happening so much, his behaviour has gone from pretty good, to flat out naughty, and we’re so DONE with it 😩 anyone else?

Right here with you! Genuinely done trying to tell him off I just ignore him now seems to be improving xx

Yeah same here. Won't get dressed or brush his teeth or have a bath, it's a constant battle to get him to do any of it and most of it ends in a tantrum because we've had to force him. I've heard the 3s were hard but I didn't quite expect this level

It’s so hard but it is developmentally normal. When I feel frustrated (my little boy loves the word no too) I try to remind myself of that. The best thing you can do is be firm with your boundary but stay calm (on the outside at least). I lose my cool sometimes and always find that his behaviour is worse when I do. Whereas if I manage to stay calm then I can usually talk him round more successfully.
