Paracetamol, reusable perineal ice packs and a donut cushion alll help with recovery. I’ve used them for all 3 of my vaginal births (1st episiotomy, 2nd had tears and grazes, 3rd just a small tear)
Get yourself a can of Dermoplast, it helped lessen the pain and discomfort so much for me!
Everyone is different, but yea, mine was on the longer side of healing. It felt off to me too but my midwife said everything looked good. It just takes time. Couldn't have sex for 6 months, it was so uncomfortable and painful.
I had a 2nd degree tear also however I had the worst hemorrhoids of my life and they hurt more than anything else I was dealing with and my pain didn’t go until I addressed them fully
Girl, it's only been four days! You need to give this way more time to heal. Take it slow, keep dry and clean and it will get better over time.
Alternating between ibuprofen and paracetamol every two hours is how I got through the most horrendous headaches.
I had a 2nd degree tear with my 3rd baby last year! My advice is to drink plenty of water to dilute your pee as much as possible, and keep the area clean as much as possible too! Oh, and rest where you can!
Hey girl, I had a second degree tear on Dec 26th! It was about day 10 when I felt like I could walk around without popping a stitch 😅 My husband had to pull me off the couch anytime I wanted to stand and I couldn’t get my LO out of his bassinet because it was too low.
A couple of weeks for me from having an episiotomy. I used boots cooling pads and spritz for bits which were a god send in making me feel more comfortable. Also badedas bubble bath as it helps with healing
I had a second degree tear with both births, and an episiotomy with my first. Just to give you hope, I had my daughter on Dec 6th last year, and was out of hospital on Dec 7th as it was my other daughter’s 2nd birthday. Was fine with driving, sitting, walking etc and it was the fastest recovery ever. You’ll get there, probably quicker than you think 🥰
How long dis you wait to have sex with a second degree tear?
@Simona 6 wks
When people say fast, they don’t mean 4 days. Please go into bed and come out in a month 🤣🙈
I also had a second degree tear and I had an episiotomy - don’t worry. After a week I noticed a significant difference and after ten days I could barely feel anything at all! Those first few days you really do feel intense pressure down there and like it’ll be that way forever but I genuinely promise in just a few more days that you’ll start to see a big difference! Just keep it clean. Shower every day, pat dry etc. I also found using a witch hazel foam once in the morning and once in the evening was nice. But really just give it time and you’ll be back to yourself soon enough. Wishing you a speedy recovery x
