Colic or something else?

Hey guys! Just looking for advice really. My 5 week old little boy has gone from doing 5-6 poops a day to 1 explosive one every 24 hours or so. It’s been like this for a few days, he gets combination fed formula and Breastmilk and has done for weeks and has always been fine. He seems so uncomfy has a hard belly and is passing wind but seems sore and is crying and straining himself. He never normally cries like this and I just feel helpless! I’ve picked up some colic drops but don’t know if that will help. Anyone else had anything similar or know any advice?

We’re going through the same thing. We’re just trying tummy massages and movements. We went to an osteopath yesterday and have a couple more sessions booked in so we’re waiting to see if that helps. As he was a c-section baby they have suggested trying some probiotic drops to help his gut.

Ahh my little one was a c section baby too so might try that. We have his 6 week review at the GP on Monday so hoping to get more advice then!

My little man has been the same he’s bottle fed but he strains really bad and arches his bk he brings his bottles up well did until I took him docs yesterday thinking he had colic but turns out it’s acid reflux and been put on baby gaviscon and told to feed him sat upright right and keep him sat up right for 30mins after every feed the colic drops we got are coileaf and they help baby to poo wen he’s constipated

Exactly the same 😩xx

I’m the same but I don’t think it’s colic I spoke to a health visitor who said that sometimes babies develop something called Infant dyschezia, looking online it says it should sort itself out in a week or two, my little one was prescribed some lactulose which seems to be helping initially he’s EBF and also a c section baby

Have you always combination fed? Mine was fine for a good few week then I started combination feeding and the doctor has started him on a dairy free formula and he has now improved allot, he said it’s very common in new borns and something they sometimes grow out of. I also called my health visitor regaurding him not pooing so much and she said as they reach the 4-5 week mark and they are drinking more they often poo less frequently. May not be the case but was in my experience! Hope he gets better soon x
