I'm not qualified or anything, but depending on the weight limit for the harness in the Joie, I would go with that, I wouldn't fully trust a 4yr old with a proper seat belt
@Kath goes up to 25kg, only one I can find that goes past 18kg. I was worried about not messing with the seatbelt as well
I would go for the Joie personally
Joie
I don’t think any retailers have the 25kg harness Joie Bold left, it would be the newer version that has a 105cm limit so harness couldn’t be used.
@Emily the nursery store have it in stock but yeah only a couple places I've seen with it still. Silver cross balance goes up to 21kg too I think
We bought the joie for the exact reason of him being harnessed for longer. Just seems too little still for a seatbelt.
@Sarah think that's what I'm gonna go for! Makes me wonder why they don't have the higher limit on the newer seats though x
They do, but they tend to be the extended rear facing ones. We felt comfortable to forward face and this seat will last him until he doesn’t need one anymore, so was a no brainer for us.
If he's closer to 5 and sensible to sit nicely and whilst not ideal I'd go for the britax.
