@Sarah in England they don’t do much till over 2
Honestly my little boy was the same and I was worried but since Christmas, he's come on so much with his speech, I can see everyday he is trying so much and is saying more words x
Are they saying any word?
@Emma just like wow few animal noises sometimes and babbling mama dada
Honestly, don't worry about it too much. My little boy didn't start talking properly until after he turned 2.
That sounds just about right to me. I wouldn’t worry x
Our HV (wales) is concerned, we have an appt next week to see the community nurse i think they will recommend speech therapy but I’ll comment on here and let you know if you like! But - I’ve got loads of friends whose boys didn’t start talking til 2 years so I’m not too worried about it x
@Fay yes let us know please. & yeah I’ve heard the same lots even 2.5 :/ xx
Tbh I wouldn’t worry. My brother (3.5) didn’t talk until well after two now he won’t shut up. My daughter only said hi and mom at that age. She was able to point things out and knew how to communicate without talking but knew what you meant if you spoke. Now she’s like 30 months or something like that and she says more words and counts up to 20. Not full sentences yet but she’s also speaking her dad’s language at times so I think that’s slowing her down. I would be worried closer to three. But try watching older shows or things like Ms Rachel. And speak more to them
Is baby walking?
Or is baby a bilingual?
My boy is 26 months old, he doesn't talk yet. He says maa, daaa and roars for almost all animals. At 18months they weren't concerned as they came out for my now 8 month old. So don't worry about it too much
Seems boys have a different path from girl but also dipend from how much you talk with them. My daughter is 11 month and say any dada , but she biklknguL so my infant psicologico explain to me is because she is bilingual but I need to keep talking constantly every day they absorb a lot. And till 4 years old is ok to don't worried about to muchunles there is also a late walking.
My little boy didn't properly start saying words until he was closer to two. He's still delayed but new words and coming every day and he has great understanding of things. He is 26 months and waiting for our 2.5 year health visitor appointment before we see what they say and if he needs any extra help. My boy is extremely physical and has always been focused and ahead on that aspect so I'm not too concerned at the moment. Trying to take things at his pace and see what the health visitor says.
What is your paediatrician advising? Have you taken her to a speech pathologist?
