Pooping on the potty

We are on day 2 of potty training and he’s doing really well. No wee accidents today 🎉 He’s just done a poo accident though where he started to poo in his pants, ran to the toilet but then wouldn’t sit on it and when he eventually did sit on the potty he didn’t finish his poo. Any tips on encouraging them to poo on potty too?!

How many accidents on day 1? We tried today and he has done wees on potty and a poo (but that was a fluke).

My daughter used to squat in the corner by the rocking chair to poo in her nappy. Now we have to put the potty behind the rocking chair & put a blanket over it so she's in a little den & give her some toys & books. She likes her privacy for a poo. Maybe try & replicate conditions where he used to poo in his nappy as much as possible.

Bubbles , stories and songs helped us , he held it and gave himself a sore tummy for a day as he was so worried💔 once he did it a couple times while he was scared he ended up fine and goes no problem now it's fun for him🤣 bubbles reallyyyyyy was the turning point for us though I think!! X

@Jo We had 4 accidents yesterday morning then he just seemed to get it in the afternoon 😊 He’s done amazing today other than he just freaked out bless him when he did a poo in his pants

That sounds similar, luckily 3 were not on the carpet.
